Our annual operating budget runs about $ 100,000. Most of our budget (80%) is for producing concerts; the remainder is operating expenses. Our income is usually generated by: 30% from ticket sales, 25% from the Music & Arts fundraising campaign, 20% from city and county grants, 15% from dues. This leaves 10% from other fundraising. Concert costs are high because we hire professional musicians whenever possible. We are always looking for people who are interested in writing grants. We would like to develop grants other than the city and county ones. There is a lot of grant money available, but we need to apply for it!
Annual Giving Campaign
Our goal this year is $30,000. That's an average of $350 per singer. We realize that you volunteer your time (and great singing voice) for rehearsals and concerts and for your Adopt-A-Job. But we need your help with fundraising, too. Whatever your pledge was last year, please think about increasing it this year, if only by $5 or $25. Please plan on asking everyone you can think of:
·Those who know how much you love the choir. That's family and friends.
·Those to whom you give money. That's your doctor, lawyer, dentist, physical therapist, realtor, banker, grocer, dry cleaner, hair stylist, insurance agent, massage therapist, accountant, mechanic, coach, teacher, yoga instructor, restaurant and coffee shop owners, companies with which you or your company do business, etc. You'd be surprised how many companies will donate money -- you just have to ask. Ask anyone to whom you give money!
If anyone asks, we are a 501 (c) (3) nonprofit organization.
